Gaza- Press House
On Thursday, 18 June 2020 Press House – Palestine (BAS) concluded “Using Smartphones in Media Coverage and Film Making” training course, the training lasted to 10 training days, targeting 15 trainees were selected as freshly graduates from the Journalism and Media faculties at the Palestinian universities in the Gaza Strip.
The training was provided by Mr. Hisham Zaqout and Mr.Hazem Abu Humaid.
Moreover, the course included the practical training of smartphones in filming using different applications and explained the methods of media coverage, as well as the process of producing films through smartphones.
The trainers reviewed how to schedule filming and production stages, appropriate advice for sound recording, and the characteristics of the images used for films.
It also dealt with scheduling the filming dates and clarified the stages of production and direct and explained how to record sound and choose the best image characteristics.
The trainers also reviewed the equipment used in film production and how to store and archive the materials, in addition to the script writing steps of scenarios and television reports.
The two trainers divided the trainees in the practical field training into 5 groups of films, stories, and reports production, to show how much information they gained during the course.
During the training, the trainees produced five short films as the following:
1- Nada Abu Middin.
3- Corona and Tourism.
5- Pill (drug capsule)
At the end of the course, certificates were distributed to the trainees. where three winning films were honored as follows:
1. In the First place: Pill (drug capsule).
2. In the Second center: Surprise.
3. In the Third place: Nada Abu Middin Film.
This training course is part of "Strengthening Free and Independent Media in Palestine" project, funded by the Swiss and Norwegian governments.
