On Thursday,12th. Dec.2019, the Press House - Palestine, in partnership with REFORM Foundation, conducted the closing event in support of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women, as part of the closing activities of the project “Fostering Social Inclusion and Gender Equality within Palestinian Society tackling gender stereotypes”.
This event included a speech presented by Dr. Haifa Al-Agha, the Former Minister of the Ministry of Women Affairs, in which she reviewed the reality of women in the Palestinian society and some statistics that express the violations experienced by women.
She also highlighted the role of leadership and struggle that Palestinian women have played over the years, reviewing many success stories of Palestinian women who have contrived in all fields.
During this event, a Tweeting campaign was launched on the international Hashtag in support of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women
At the end of this event, all those involved in the success of the activities of this project were honored, including the partner institutions, decision makers, trainers and the trainees who participated in all of the project activities for 6 months straight.
It’s worth noting that this project aims at challenging discriminatory and exclusionary practices and behaviors that contribute to promoting gender inequality by providing safe spaces for marginalized groups, especially youth and women, to discuss gender-based societal issues, and to improve the exchange of experience among the various components of Palestinian society to promote the social inclusion.
