Press House Concludes a Training Course on Promoting Human Rights

On Thursday,28 Nov.2019, the Press House - Palestine concluded a training course entitled " Promoting Human Rights Concepts in Media Coverage ", which lasted for five consecutive days by 25 hours, and it was presented by Legal Advisor Mohammed Abu Hashem.

The course of promoting human rights concepts in media coverage targeted 20 trainees working in the field of Press and Media. The trainer focused on human rights in international and domestic law and the basic concepts of the international humanitarian law.

The training also included models for media coverage of Israeli violations in the Occupied Territories, mechanisms to promote concepts of civil and political rights in media coverage, and promotion of concepts of economic, social and cultural rights in the media coverage.

During the course of promoting human rights concepts in media coverage, each trainee prepared media material that was discussed and evaluated during the course.

The course is part of the capacity building program, as part of activities within” Towards an Independent Media Platform for Capacity building, Awareness, and Involvement of Journalists” Project, funded by the Norwegian and Swiss governments.
