Gaza, 16/08/2017--- The National Committees for Refugees in the Gaza Strip Camps appealed UNRWA to light up the camps by providing them with electricity.
During a conference held by the National Committees, they stated that the Gaza Strip consumes 70 million Kilo watt monthly, where the Gaza strip camps consume 10 million kilo watt montly.
They appealed UNRWA to pressure on the occupation to get back the electricity lines and provide the strip with good generators to cover the needs of camps and the areas that the refugees reside in.
The committees noted that the Gaza Strip is suffering from siege, especially electricity crisis, where people of Gaza only have four or less hours of electricity aday.
He followed that the electricity shortage led to water and sea pollution as well as diseases spread and insects especially in this hot seasons, where also no borders for patients to move and travel.
The committee appealed UNRWA to do its tasks and provide a good life to them including their return to their lands as 302 decision of the United Nation General Assembly issued.
He added that the national committees ask UNRWA to also provide electricity to stop this human crisis including poverty and unemployment, which the Gaza Strip is passing through.
They also ask the international community and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Gutierrez, to seriously pay attention to the Gaza Strip to rescue it.
Furthermore, the Arabian Committees ask not to share what's happening in the Gaza Strip with silence.
They also appealed Egypt to continuously open Rafah border and increase the amount of electricity being provided to the Strip, so that the Strip could be survived.
