Press House – Palestine (BAS) organized a training course on the topic of “The Right to Access Information” as part of “Journalists Have Power” project activities in partnership with the French Consulate in Jerusalem.

Dr. Samia Al-Gossain, lawyer and the trainer of the course, reviewed the aspects of the course which briefed the right to access information and its principles that included revealing the maximum level of information, protecting the information sources, opening the public meetings for the audience, facilitating the access to the information, giving free access to information, and narrow exceptions. She also pointed out that the course aims to promote the importance of the right to access information for journalists (women and men) and to provide them with the required skills regarding the procedures of submitting and following up with their requests for accessing and getting information in the official institutions.
This course is part of the training program on the topic of "Media freedoms and legal culture for journalists" project activities implemented by Press House which aims to deepen the participants’ knowledge on the international and local legal framework related to media freedoms and journalistic work and to enhance their knowledge of the basic rights of journalists.
