On Monday, 5th of August 2019, the team of a young journalists affiliated with the Press House -Palestine, visited the office of Al-Jazeera Network in the Gaza Strip.
The group was greeted by the reporter of Al-Jazeera Channel, Hisham Zaqout, Khalid Lubbad from News Department, Ahmed Abu Jamous from Broadcast Engineering and Samir Abu Daqa from Montage Department, whom valued the role of the Press House, which always seeks to inform the young journalists with the work of the local and international media networks.
Both of Hisham Zaqout and Khalid Lubbad briefed the young journalists on the work nature of the News Department, and the way of collecting news and the criteria of its transference. While Ahmed Abu Jamous reviewed the methods of transferring the images and the live broadcast via satellite to the headquarters of Al-Jazeera Network at Doha then to the public screens.
While Samir Abu Daqa showed the life cycle of the report which starts from raw materials ,such as s images and video to the integration of these materials with the reporter article, ends with the preparing a final media material of the report with a duration of no more than 2 minutes and 15 seconds.
Abu Daqa also explained the storage and archiving mechanism of filmed material to use them at the montage as appropriate.
At the end of the visit, the media professionals of Al-Jazeera Network provided some tips relevant to the international occupational criteria, in addition to other required skills to create a promising media future for youth.
Its noteworthy that such visits came within a number of activities where the Press House Foundation adopt to target the youth media groups, in order to pave the way for them to familiarize them with the international media work.
