Gaza, 18/07/2017--- Jamal Al-Khodary, Head of Popular Committee against the Israeli Siege, presented a new initiative to end up the Palestinian division between Fatah and Hamas upon specific mechanisms and within an in-depth analysis for the latest situations, warning at the same time the serious humanitarian repercussions in the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip for 10 years, respectively.
During a press conference held in the Press House, Al-Khodary confirmed that the initiative can end up the division in few days in case its items are applied including ending up the administrative committee of the Gaza Strip and all the procedures taken against the Gaza Strip, indicating the procedures taken by PA against the Gaza Strip.
Al-Khodary also mentioned that the second step focuses on empowering the national reconciliation government to work in the Gaza Strip with all of its power, in conjunction with all its obligations, particularly in the matter of the former and new employees, according to the principle of preservation of their rights, where they should work as employees for PA bearing the burdens of 10 years.
Al-Khodary explained that the third includes forming a Palestinian national united government in conjunction with activating the Palestinian legislative to ratify the government, which will work on ending the division and holding residential& legislative elections. In the meanwhile, he stressed that if these items are implemented, Palestinians easily can end the current crisis.
Al-Khodary reviewed some figures noting the magnitude of the catastrophe that may take place in the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli siege. He demanded the international organizations to seriously pressure on Israel for immediately ending up the sea and land siege on the Gaza Strip.
Al-Khodary clarified that the reports issued by the international organizations for the situations of the Gaza Strip are not enough, especially since one million and six thousand people in the Gaza Strip, living under the poverty line.
