With consideration of high preventive measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19, a number of social media influencers, journalists and media graduates participated in the two hashtag tweet sessions, while the tweeps focused on "#Yes to Freedom of Expression” hashtag and “# Journalists Have Power " hashtag.
Hanadi Alwan, coordinator of "Journalists have Power" project, said that the main goal of the Tweet sessions is to raise awareness about the issues of media freedoms and the importance of protection and legal awareness for journalists in Palestine.
From his part, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Taweel facilitator of the Tweet sessions, said that one of the strong indications of the success of the campaign was the level of interaction and outreach on social media platforms, where the reach through the hashtags together reached about 70 thousand people, while the interaction on the same platforms reached more than 22 thousand interactions.
"These campaigns have a huge impact on society by targeting a range of groups that are directly involved in the issues at hand, and that contribute to the change that everyone wants to make so that we have sufficient awareness of rights and duties," Mr. Al-Taweel said.
