The Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House - Palestine (BAS) has published a factsheet on the violations against media freedoms in Palestine in July 2021.
The factsheet explained violations committed against Palestinian journalists (women and men) by Israeli Occupation and internal entities in addition to the violations against digital rights.
In July 2021, the number of violations against media freedoms in Palestine has reached (78); the Legal Protection Unit at Press House has documented (53) violations committed by Israeli Occupation representing (68%) of the total number of violations and (23) internal violations representing (29%) of the total number of violations, in addition to digital rights violations which representing (3%).
The factsheet showed that, the distribution of Israeli Occupation violations by geographical region has indicated that a number of (78) violations in the West Bank, no violations documented at the Gaza Strip during July.
Internally, the factsheet indicated that the percentage of internal violations by geographical region has reached (70%) in the West Bank, the percentage of internal violations in the Gaza Strip has reached (30%) out of violations.
The violations against media freedoms during July as follows: preventing journalists from media coverage, confiscating or destroying journalistic equipment, physical attacks and injured by tears gas or bullets.
