On Thursday, February 03, 2022, Press House-Palestine (BAS) held a dialogue session on the topic of "Investigative Journalism and Human Rights-Based Approach", as part of "Legal Protection for Palestinian Journalists" project activities, in partnership with the European Endowment for Democracy.

The dialogue session was held in the Gaza City, with consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID 19, with participation of a number of journalists (women and men), and in presence of Dr. Samia Al Ghussein and the journalist Fadi Al Hasani.

The session was opened by Mr. Abdullah Sharsharh, Coordinator of Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House, stressing that in this session Press House aims to highlight on prospects of enhancing the legal environment against hate speech, and the linkage between human rights-based approach and the practical procedures, especially through the most sensitive tools as investigative journalism.

From her part, Dr. Al Ghussein stated that human rights-based approach is normatively dependent on international human rights standards, which leads to strengthening and protecting human rights in many fields, as journalism.

Mr. Fadi Al Hasani indicated that investigative journalism should be organized according to journalism ethics that helps in strengthening human rights by raising awareness and detecting corruption, flaws and weaknesses.
