On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, Press House - Palestine (BAS) held a reflection session for the results of fact sheet on the topic of “Violations against Media Freedoms from 01, Oct, 2020 to 01, Oct, 2021, as part of “Journalists Have Power” project activities, in partnership with the Consulate General of France in Jerusalem.

The session was held in Gaza City, with consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID 19, with participation of a number of journalists (women and men), students and graduates of media colleges.

Dr. Samia Al Ghussein presented the results of fact sheet, that showed violations committed against Palestinian journalists and who works in media during the period (01, Oct, 2020 to 01, Oct, 2021), a total number of (909) committed violations in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, (679) violations committed by Israeli Occupation, (102) violations committed by internal entities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to (158) violations committed against Palestinian media digital rights.

Also, she indicated that in the Palestinian territories, the percentage of violations committed by Israeli Occupation has reached (72%), the percentage of violations committed by local Palestinian Authorities has reached (11%), while the percentage of violations committed against Palestinian media digital rights has reached (17%) out of the total number of documented violations.

The reflection session included a number of participations from journalists (women and men), which focused on problems they face during their media work.
