Press House Holds a Workshop on the topic of “Reality and Future of Investigative Journalism in Palestine”

On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, Press House - Palestine held a workshop on "Reality and Future of Investigative Journalism in Palestine", as part of “Strengthening Free & Independent Media in Palestine” project activities in partnership with the Norwegian and the Swiss Governments.

The workshop was held at Press House in the Gaza City, with consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID 19, with the participation of Mr. Amjad Yaghi, a number of journalists (women and men), students and graduates of media colleges.

Mr. Yaghi presented the most important challenges which facing investigative journalism in Palestine, as shortage and difficulty in getting information from trusted sources, in addition to the huge effort which required to do properly.

Also, he mentioned that journalist should commit to investigative journalism ethics, because it is a community responsibility aims to reform and not creating confusion inside community, stressing the need for journalist to be known with laws and rules which enhance and empower the investigative report to access its message by right and proper way.

The workshop included a number of participations from participants and recommendations which focused on necessity of being opened minded towards digital development especially in preparing investigative reports and the right ways to access information from sources, also tools and verification mechanisms from information which investigative report is depended on them.
