Press House organizes a cultural session on the topic of “The Extent of Hate Speech Infiltration in the Cultural and Literary Scene in Palestine”

On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Press House – Palestine (BAS) organized a cultural meeting on the topic of “The Extent of Hate Speech Infiltration in the Cultural and Literary Scene in Palestine” as part of “Enhancing Free & Independent Media in Palestine” funded by the Norwegian and the Swiss Governments.

With consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID19, Mr. Abdullah Tayeh, the writer, Mr. Tawfiq Abu-Shomer, the political analyst, Mr. Atef Al-Durra, the founder of Dar Al Kalima for Publishing, a group of journalists (women and men), and other active writers in the Palestinian Community participated in the cultural session.

Mr. Atef Al-Duraa opened the cultural session indicating the importance of the Palestinian cultural scene in preserving other’s feelings and emotions. He emphasized on the emptiness of the Palestinian cultural and literary writings from the hate methodology toward other religions.

“All the Palestinian cultural writings throughout history have never been characterized with hatred or racism, but they have reflected the Palestinian people’s suffering in the light of Israeli Occupation violations,” Mr. Abdullah Tayeh said appraising the role of Palestinian literature in transferring the reality before, during and after the Nakba.
