Press House organize a hashtag tweet session on the topic of "Journalists Have Power"

On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, Press House-Palestine (BAS) organized a hashtag tweet session on the topic of “Journalists Have Power” as part of “Journalists Have Power” project activities, in partnership with French Consulate in Jerusalem.

With high consideration of preventive measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID19, a group of, social media influencers, journalists, media graduates and lawyers participated in the hashtag tweet session, while the tweeps focused on “#Journalists Have Power”.

Lawyer, Abdullah Saharshra, coordinator of the Legal Protection Unit for Journalists at Press House said “this campaign which implemented by Press House through social media is part of the legal advocacy activities, aiming to raise the awareness to journalists (women and men) and social media users about journalists’ rights, legal obligations and international standards related to media freedoms. Also, to highlight the media freedom issue in the Community.

From his part, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Taweel, coordinator of the Social Media Club, said “that a group of, social media influencers, journalists, media graduates and lawyers participated in the hashtag tweet session, while the tweeps focused on “#Journalists Have Power” to raise the awareness of journalists (women and men) on their legal rights and duties. He pointed out that the hashtag was the most popular topic on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram platforms and the hashtag campaign has a great attention from the public.
