Hope Eyes Organizes A Workshop About The Editorial Writing For The News Agency

Gaza, 6/4/2016 --- Hope Eyes Team organized a workshop about the editorial writing for news agencies at the headquarter of the organization in Gaza.

The workshop hosted the journalist Adel Al-Zanoun, who works at the French News Agency, the journalist Saud Abu-Ramadan, who works at the Chinese Agency, and Hekmat Yousef, the head of Sawa News Agency.

Ahmad Abu Jahal, the leader of Hope Eyes Team, said that the international and local news agencies are not powerful enough in terms of the content which affects the quality of events coverage, pointing out that the media outlets are a tool of building the policy of the its country.

He clarified that the Arabic editorial writing requires two things; the first is to be good at the grammar, and the second is to be knowledgeable of the culture of the country the one wants to write using its language.

In his turn, Adel Alzaanoun talked about the establishment of the international news agencies, including Reuters and Spotish Press and how those agencies menology the news till now.

He asserted that the journalist has to be very good at the language, since it helps journalists write more quickly and easily. Al-Zaanoun asked the students to work on themselves and read more and think well when joining the field of media.

Its much important than knowing about the job and its importance. In his turn, Saud Abu Ramdan talked about the art of writing for the agencies and how to edit news depending on professional techniques at the same time.

He stressed on the importance for journalists to be well-knowledgeable of the issue they want to write about, and concern more about the details of the news.

Hekmat Yousef asserted that journalists have to get powerful personality that enables him to professionally work in the field, pointing out that the culture of the country where they work, is required to be taken into consideration too.

Yousef added that Palestine has a special place in journalism due to the presence of the Israeli occupation, which obligates journalists to be more educated of the each aspect of the Palestinian issue.

Yousef asked the attendees to set a specific time for following up the news and reading more through the independent media outlets, because that way it enhances the general and media culture, where the way to media field will be available for all to join the work.
