Press House Launches E- campaign with Participation of Human Rights Defenders and Journalists To Support Al-Qeeq

Gaza, 1/2/2016 --- Press House- Palestine launched a solidarity campaign to support the prisoner Mohammed Al-Qeeq who has been on a hunger strike for 69 days, protesting imprisoning him under administrative detention, on Monday at its main office in Gaza.

Belal Jadallah, the chairman of Press House, said that the Israeli occupation is still imprisoning Mohammad Al-Qeeq , even after his health severely deteriorated, accusation him of media incitement against Israel, wondering if media work has become a crime that should be stopped by Israel.

Jadallah adde, " We are here to launch a solidarity E-campaign, who is upon an extreme fatigue that clearly appeared on his health, we want to protest and express our anger on the social media, as well as write everything to support him and deliver a message to the international community about his suffering."

Jadallah called on the Palestinian journalists to activate hashtag " Freedom_For_The _Jailed_ Jounalist_ Mohammed_Al-Qeeq# on the whole social media pages, noting that this is the less we can do to support him by words through these pages.

In his turn, Essam Younes, the head of Almezan center for Human Rights, asserted that the journalist Al-qeeq has the right based on all international laws to start a hunger strike, protesting the administrative detention.

Younes confirmed that the detention of Mohammed Al-qeeq is an action against the law, holding the responsibility to the Israeli occupation and he international community about the life of the journalist which is really on danger.

Younes said, " we hope this campaign works on achieving its target of lobbying Israel to release the prison Al-qeeq and the other prisoners in the Israel jails .

In the same context, Abdel Al-nasser Ferwana, the head of studies and documentation unit in the Prisoners Affairs Committee, stressed on his appreciation of the Palestinian journalists role in exposing the crimes committed by Israel and supporting their mate Mohammed Al-qeeq.

During his speech, Ferwana said that the occupation detained 17 media workers and journalists, in order to repress and intimidate them for stopping them delivering the truth.

In his turn, the journalist Nedal Al-Mughrabi said that Al-qeeq is on the 70th day of open-ended hunger strike, accusing him of incitement against Israel, which each journalist is exposed to during delivering a message of the people suffering .

Al-Mughraby called all parties to cooperative in order to rescue the life of Al-qeeq, as well as try to lobby all the human rights organizations and to whom it may concern to do something to eliminate the suffering of the jailed prisoner.

The journalist Foaad Jarada, asked all the Palestinian factions and the human right defenders to stand by Al-qeeq side, trying to stop his suffering.

He added, " The political division must be collapsed, and there must be one voice of cooperation to survive Al-qeeq. A pile of media workers and human right defenders particiaped in the activity, as well as a number of journalists and media students who launched the E- campaign and twitted on the social media pages about this issue.
