Gaza, 5/4/2015 --- Press House – Palestine hosted an important press conference held by Euro-Mid Observer for Human Rights; to talk about the crisis of Al Yarmouk camp for Palestinian refugees in Syria.
The Observer called UN Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly to put the humanitarian considerations of the situation in Syrian territories above any other consideration, and to take urgent action under the charter of United Nations; to save the lives of civilians and stop the ongoing killing for the fifth consecutive year.
The Observer also demanded the European Commission for Human Rights to push on the Syrian regime to protect the residents of Al Yarmouk camp, to lift the siege imposed on them, as they are the primary responsible for their situation, and to immediately end this tragedy and allow the entry of necessary medications for sick and injured people inside the camp.
The Observer called UNRWA and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRS) to work on opening humanitarian passes for the camp’ residents and coordinate with Syrian forces besieging the camp to evacuate tens of injured people.
