Gaza, 13.11.2014 --- The High Commissioner for Human Rights Office in coordination with Press House – Palestine and the Palestinian Institute for Development and Communication concluded a training workshop about social media and human rights. The two-day workshop targeted around thirty journalists and activists in the field of social media.
The participant activists presented their experiences and success stories in social media in the workshop that was held in Al-Salam Abu-Hasseira restaurant.
The trainers presented the international humanitarian law in the Palestinian context, and organized workgroups to talk about the humanitarian law standards.
The participants talked about the sensitivity of writing special reports about violations against human rights and how they utilize social media to serve this issue. The workshop also included practical exercises about the utilization of social media to serve human rights and the international humanitarian law.
