Press House concludes the second course of its media training program

Gaza/ Press House-Palestine concluded on Monday the second training course titled “Integrating Elements of Citizen Journalism and Social Media into Professional Journalism.” The course targeted the new journalists and the graduates of the media faculties, part of the media training program which is funded by the Swiss foreign ministry.


GhadaZayyan, the coordinator of the Swiss project in Press House, said the course lasted for three days (5 hours per day) and it was attended by 20 female and male students.
“Engineer AbedelmajeedElhassanat was the lecturer of this course which included all sides of the modern media techniques such as Google, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus and Google Drive,” said Zayyan.


She also added that the course highlighted the impact of these means on media and journalism.


Abed al-Majeed Abu Nasser, one of the participants in the course, said he was eagerly waiting for this course due to its importance.
“The new media requires training to enable us cope with these developments,” said AbuNasser.


As other participants, Abu Nasser praised the role of Press House which offered him this rare chance, calling for more courses for media graduates from the Palestinian universities.


Female students Seba al-Jafarawi said that she benefited a lot from this course and became able to use all means of the modern media.
“We are in a real need for such courses due to the importance of modern media in reinforcing skills and abilities,” Jafarawi noted.
