In Collaboration with Press House: An-Najah Media Center Holds a Dialogue Session on Women’s issues in Palestinian Media

On Sunday, November 07, 2021, the Media Center at An-Najah National University, in collaboration with Press House – Palestine (BAS), held a dialogue session on the topic of "Women in Palestinian Media", as part of “Strengthening Free & Independent Media in Palestine” project activities, in partnership with the Norwegian and the Swiss Governments.

The dialogue session was held in Nablus City, with consideration of high prevention measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID 19, with participation of Dr. Amal Hamad, Minister of Women’s Affairs, with participation of a number of journalists (women and men), media women institutions and students and graduates of media colleges in the West Bank.

Ms. Tamara Habaiba was opened the dialogue session and stressed the importance role of Press House in highlighting on Palestinian women's issues in media and problems which facing women in Palestine.

From her part, Dr. Hamad stressed the importance of raising the awareness of Palestinian community on Palestinian women's rights, clarifying the reality that women live in, society perspective towards women despite their success and proving their abilities in many fields especially in leadership.

The Minister presented statistics about Palestinian public interests on social media platforms and how the level of providing activities in institutions related to women's issues decreases in Palestinian community.

The dialogue session included a number of participations from participants, which focused on practical procedures that should be taken for the positively change in Palestinian women's cases through the media.
