Press House organizes a meeting with Minister Abu Saif on "Cultural Journalism"

On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, Press House – Palestine (BAS) organized a special meeting with Palestinian Minister of Culture, Dr. Atef Abu Seif, on the topic of "The role of the official institution (Ministry of Culture) in the rooting of cultural journalism."

The meeting was held at Press House, in presence of a number of writers and novelists, with consideration of high preventive measures to prevent the outbreak of Coronavirus and other participants via ZOOM application (trainees at the "Intellectual journalists" project).

Mr. Belal Jadallah, director of Press House, welcomed Minister Abu Saif and the attendance, and introduced them on Press House interventions, in the light of the Corona pandemic, and the mechanism for implementing various activities for journalists, students and graduates of media faculties in Gaza Strip.

Ms. Hind Jouda, facilitator of the meeting, reviewed the activities of the project ‎"Intellectual journalists" ‎funded by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, which is carried out by Press  House, and highlighted the role of  cultural media in dealing with the Palestinian cultural heritage.

Minister Abu Seif said that the cultural media has a great importance role in highlighting the culture of Palestinian people in different eras, stressing that the ministry and Palestinian Writers Union do not hesitate to serve anyone who wants to print a book either in Gaza Strip or West Bank.

The minister pointed out that there is no Arab prize without Palestinian participation in it, because it carries a wide culture and good presence, stressing that this is what the ministry seeks to support intellectuals, writers in highlighting Palestinian culture.

Minister Abu Saif listened to the participants and questions of writers, and trainees, mostly focusing on the responsibility of media in highlighting culture and literature, and seeking new topics to highlight them and preserve the cultural heritage of the Palestinian people.
