Gaza - Press House
On Thursday, November 5, 2020, Press House – Palestine(BAS) implemented an initiative on the topic of "Discover Gaza”, which is a tour to archaeological sites in the Gaza Strip.
The tour is targeted 21 participants were selected as freshly graduates from Journalism and Media faculties at the Palestinian universities in the Gaza Strip, with consideratrion preventive measures to prevent the outbreak of Coronavirus, where the initiative aims to increase the knowledge of participants in archaeological sites in t Gaza Strip that they have not visited before.
During the tour, the participants visited Tal Um Amer archaeological site in Al-Swarha area, in Al-Nuseirat city, Tal Zoarub archaeological site in Rafah city, Marwan Shahwan Museum in Khanyounis city, Al-Qaraa Museum, Maqbrait Alengliz in Al-Zawayda city, and an external tour of the Old City in Gaza city, including the Palace of Basha , as well as Alomari mosque.
In turn, the guide, Ms. Neama Al-Swarka, informed the participants on the archaeological sites, and the historical significance of them through the ages and how they can be excavated and discovered.
It is worth mentioning that this initiative as part of Strengthening Free & Independent Media in Palestine Project activities.
