Press House in partnership with REFORM and Bayt Byout concludes a training course

On Thursday, 31 October 2019, the Press House - Palestine, in partnership with REFORM and Beit Byout the Palestinian Larp organization from the West Bank, concluded on, a training course entitled “The Live Action Role Playing Games -LARP” within the activities of the project “Fostering Social Inclusion and Gender Equality within Palestinian Society tackling gender stereotypes” .

This training course is considered the first of its kind in the Gaza Strip, which aims to empower young people and raise their level of awareness of community issues, specifically on women's participation in public life, through the integration of media with drama and the establishment of interactive media concepts.

Through the training practical activities, which provided by the trainer Bassem Al-Derawi. Lobbying mechanism, advocacy, decision-making strategies and gender issues were highlighted through more peaceful means.

A training campaign entitled “To Be a Feminist or Not to Be” was implemented in which the role of women in society and the reality they live on daily was highlighted in an attempt to reject violence against them and demand their rights which is guaranteed by international laws.

The training included a series of games, including (The Chaos, the village, the fat man falling), with the participation of 31 trainees / of the participants in this project.

It’s worth noting that this project aims at challenging discriminatory and exclusionary practices and behaviors that contribute to promoting gender inequality by providing safe spaces for marginalized groups, especially youth and women, to discuss gender-based societal issues, and to improve the exchange of experience among the various components of Palestinian society to promote the social inclusion.
