The literary Noon Salon hosts the Former Palestinian Minister of Women and the Talented Child Rahaf Skaik

On Tuesday,15th October 2019, The Literary Noon Salon, which is an Intellectual Literary Feminist Group, organized a literary meeting at the Press House - Palestine, west of Gaza City, in the presence of a group of writers, literary and intellectuals.

The guest of the meeting, which was moderated by Ms. Fathiyia Sarsour, was the former Palestinian Minister of Women Haifa Al-Agha, to talk about her experience during her postition at Dr. Rami Hamdallah government , as well as her life time, rise and study since childhood in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The former Minister Al-Agha said that she grew up in a conservative family. Her father was a religious man, “Sheikh Azhari”, she studied masters and doctorate in the United States. After 25 years, she returned to Palestine. In August 1994, after the Palestinian Authority governance of the Gaza Strip, she worked at the Ministry of Education for one-year, in the general educational planning.

She added “I moved to the Ministry of Women's Affairs, and I was able to do something for the women who was completely missed. During my work at the ministry, I was traveling between Gaza and Ramallah during the week, with the difficulties i faced when traveling at the Beit Hanoun / Erez crossing. ".

On a different note, on Tuesday,1st October. 2019, The Literary Noon Salon hosted a 12-year-old artist Rahaf Skaik, who turns stories into movies and animations using electronic drawing.

Sarsour demonstrated Skaik's talent through displaying one of the films she produced through electronic drawing with the participation of her entire family, from performing voice roles to exchanging dialogue and speech.

Raeda Dalloul, Rahaf's mother, said that she worked to develop her daughter's talent from a young age through training in the art of poetry and painting, as well as her studies, which are considered superior to her classmates.

For her part, Rahaf thanked her mother and family for the support and confidence they gave her to reach the world of animation using electronic drawing.

The cultural Noon Salon holds a continuous literary sessions per month, which aims to discuss novels, short stories or an artistic work.
