The Press House holds a Needs Assessment session

On Wednesday, the Press House held a need assessment session as part of the project “Towards an Independent Media Platform for Capacity building, Awareness, and Involvement of Journalists” in Gaza City, with the attendance of number of male and female trainees and participants of the Press House activities, In addition to the members youth groups, literacy clubs and activities received by the Press House.

From her part, Samar Al Malfouh, the program manager at the Press House, welcomed the attendees, and presented a brief on the nature of the implemented programs and activities by the Press House.

During the session, the participants discussed a number of needs, besides the assessment of the activities, events and programs that were received and implemented by the Press House through 2019. They also recommended the need to establish a research center that serves as a reference for journalists, in addition to the establishment of a new body of 'Friends of the Press House ".

Some of the attendees also noted the need to strengthen citizen journalism, while others suggested to conduct courses and activities in English, in addition to a number of requirements and needs had been discussed during the session.
