"Meeting on "Online Advocacy and its Role in Enhancing Youth Political Participation

On Thursday, 13/12/2018, Press House - Palestine hosted a discussion meeting on online advocacy and its role in enhancing the participation of young people in the political process, as part of " Enough Silence… Raise your Voice" initiative which is organized by the Amjaad Association for Community Development in partnership with the Women's Working Society and in collaboration with Pal-Think foundation.

The meeting was presented by Sultan Naser, an expert in social media platforms, Mahmoud Al Barbar, a coordinator of media youth network, and journalist Shaima Megdad. The meeting was attended by a group of youth from both genders and a group of journalists.

Participants emphasized the role of youth in using social media sites in a positive manner and the importance of creating a content that encourages citizens to lead the change, and the work in this area should not be seasonal.

The speakers encouraged young people to possess the right language of discussion and discourse on issues related to human rights, especially political participation.

They demanded the young to have an intensive training on the mechanism of effective communication within social media sites.

The meeting included interventions by young men and women from the West Bank through a video conferencing, in which they emphasized the common concern and the importance of youth's role in creating a future and raising their voice towards community issues.
